When it comes to exterior lighting, there are a number of different options available. While some homeowners may be hesitant to spend the extra money on these lights, they can be an excellent way to make your home look fantastic. Security lights are often seen as one of the most important options because they provide light outside so that people can see what is going on at night and keep things secure. Pathway lights are also popular for this reason too–they allow you to create a visual path from one area of your property to another without having any dark spots in between.

In this post, we will discuss the various lighting options available to make your home stand out.

    Security Lighting Installation

Security lights are typically an inexpensive and easy to install option. These make it easier for people to see what is going on outside of your home during the nighttime hours, which can help deter crime or any other potential dangers that may be lurking around in the dark. These lights are activated by movement and typically come with a light sensor that detects movement within the home’s vicinity.

Popular locations to install security lighting would be near doors and windows, on ceilings around entryways or driveways, along walkways leading up to your house–basically anywhere outside of your home that someone might use to gain access.

    Pathway Lighting Installation

Pathway lighting typically includes a series of lights that are installed along the perimeter of your property. These can be used to outline walkways, driveways or other paths leading up to your house for an aesthetically pleasing effect.

A well-lit path is also helpful when trying to traverse your property in the dark.

Some homeowners choose to install pathway lights along their garden paths or even just in front of a garage door, for example. This is an especially popular place to put lighting because it will alert someone that there’s activity on your property and discourage them from choosing those areas as targets for burglary attempts.

    Recessed Ground Lights Installation

Recessed ground lights are usually installed around the perimeter of your property or landscape, and they’re often used to highlight trees, bushes or flowers.

Ground-level lighting can be helpful for highlighting areas in your yard that you want other people to see but not wander into (such as vegetable gardens).

Some homeowners use this type of exterior to illuminate key features of the property.  For example, a house that has an impressive porch or entrance might use this type of lighting to make it more inviting.

In general, ground-level lights are most commonly used for walkways and outdoor living spaces such as patios and pool decks. This style of light will also give off an ambient glow which makes it perfect for creating an atmosphere when entertaining guests outside during evenings.

Remember also that it’s important not only to consider how bright these are but also if they’re designed for accent or illumination purposes.

    Soffit Lighting Installation

A common trend which we are installing more of is soffit lighting.

This type of exterior lighting can be installed on top of the roof and shines down onto a surface, such as your house number or front door.

Soffit lights are designed to illuminate without being too harsh or bright. Installing these will not only make it easier for people to find your property but also stand out amongst your neighbours.

    Solar Powered Lighting Installation

A great way to achieve lighting outside your property is by using light fittings which harness the power of solar. These do not require mains cabling and are stand-along self-powered fittings.

If you are after cheap and easy to install outside lighting, then solar is the way to go.

There are various types of solar lights available for purchase, including floodlights and spotlights.

Solar lighting can be installed on your property with ease by yourself as they come in a lightweight form which are easy to mount or hang up anywhere you like without having a qualified electrician.

However, the sun is quite a rare site in Bristol! Especially during the winter months when it is important to illuminate your property, you may find yourself in the dark.
